France, 8 days, time and strike, figural mantel clock with pendule a Paris movement, deeply molded white marble base on gilt feet supporting a fluted marble cylinder containing the clock dial and movement, with flanking patinated figures, each with musical instruments, the figure on the left cradling a nest with two birds, gilt bezel with thick beveled glass, Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel Breguet style hands, c1870
CONDITION:
Case with flakes and chips, crack at right of movement, dirty, rear right foot bent, figures with very good patination, dial with hairlines at 5:30, rear door glass missing, movement ticks and strikes, pendulum replaced, Ht 12 7/8"
